NATIONAL SENIORS’ HEALTH PROGRAMME

NATIONAL SENIORS’ HEALTH PROGRAMME

The Ministry of Health (MOH) and Health Promotion Board (HPB) have launched the National Seniors' Health Programme in 2015 to systematically promote health education and preventive health services for older adults. The programme seeks to educate older adults on key health issues, encourage them to adopt healthy living habits and bring preventive health services to their doorstep.

SEVERAL NEW INITIATIVES SENIORS CAN LOOK FORWARD TO ARE:

  • Mobile health services to bring preventive health services to the doorstep of seniors in their communities.

  • Project Silver Screen is a nationwide functional screening programme for Singaporeans aged 60 and above to help them see, hear and eat better. A joint collaboration between Temasek Foundation Cares and the Ministry of Health, Project Silver Screen aims to detect age-related decline in seniors' vision, hearing and oral health early, so that timely intervention can be provided to improve their quality of life. Find out more at www.projectsilverscreen.sg.

  • Active ageing programmes (AAP) encourage seniors to stay active, healthy and socially engaged. Seniors can join these programmes, such as seniors' health workshops, healthy cooking classes and social activities, that are located in their neighbourhood.
