Inventory Adjustment

1. General

The facility shall maintain an updated and accurate inventory record in HALP-Biosafety for all First, Second and Third Schedule biological agents, and Fifth Schedule toxins.

2. Controls

The Notification of the Inventory Adjustment is a function available in HALP-Biosafety to allow facilities to update the facility's inventory records in the event of discrepancies that cannot be resolved through the submission of a relevant notification or the withdrawal of a submitted notification

For example, a Notification of Transfer of Fifth Schedule toxin with the incorrect quantity of toxin was submitted by the transferor (sending facility) and an acknowledgement of receipt has been submitted by the transferee (receiving facility). As the transferor can no longer withdraw the Notification of Transfer, he/she will have to submit a Notification of Inventory Adjustment to readjust the quantity of toxin to reflect the correct value.

3. Procedure

Login to HALP-Biosafety and submit a Notification of Inventory Adjustment along with the reason for the adjustment.
