What is Healthier SG?
Healthier SG is a national initiative by the Ministry of Health (MOH) that focuses on preventive health, for all Singapore Citizens (SC) and Permanent Residents (PR) aged 40 and above.
It aims to keep Singaporeans healthy by encouraging all of us to take proactive steps to manage our health, prevent chronic diseases, and receive support for leading a healthier lifestyle.
Why Healthier SG?
As we age, the risk of health issues increases. Proactively managing your health not only benefits you but also provides peace of mind to your loved ones. Starting early can significantly enhance your quality of life in your older days and allow you to create lasting memories with your family.
What can you expect?
Under Healthier SG, you can select a family doctor, who will be your primary healthcare partner. Your doctor will work with you to develop a personalised health plan that includes lifestyle changes, health screenings, and vaccinations. This partnership ensures continuous and comprehensive care tailored to your personal health needs.
Healthier SG also integrates support from regional health clusters (National Healthcare group, National University Health System, and SingHealth) to create a health and social ecosystem within each region.
To further support your health journey, you will be able to access health-promoting programmes and activities from partner agencies, such as Agency for Integrated Care, Health Promotion Board, People’s Association, and Sport Singapore. Seniors can also approach the Active Ageing Centres for programmes recommended by their regional health clusters and family doctor.

Ways to live healthy
Preventive care
Preventive care aims to lower one’s risk of developing a disease and/or to diagnose conditions early before symptoms or complications arise. When done well, preventive care can improve overall health and reduce future healthcare costs.
Many of MOH’s policies and initiatives aim to promote preventive health by creating a supportive environment and empowering Singaporeans to adopt healthier lifestyles.
Eat healthier: We are making it easier for you to find healthier food and drinks through the Healthier Dining Programme, Healthier Choice Symbol, and Nutri-Grade labels.
Get active: We are making it easier for you to stay active by expanding community-based physical activity programmes and offering self-directed options like the Health Promotion Board’s National Steps Challenge.
Get screened regularly: Eligible Healthier SG-enroled Singapore Citizens can now receive free screenings that are nationally- recommended.
Quit smoking: We work with stakeholders on a multi-pronged approach, including policy levers, preventive education and cessation support, to reduce tobacco consumption.
Through these initiatives, we hope to empower Singaporeans to make healthier choices and take charge of their health.
