Information on the statistics of trauma cases
Background
The National Trauma Registry (NTR) was established by the Ministry of Health (MOH) in January 2011 with the aim to systematically capture comprehensive and reliable data on trauma cases to assess the national burden of trauma and the performance of the healthcare system in managing trauma.
From 2019-2023 the NTR collates trauma data from nine public healthcare institutions in Singapore, namely, Alexandra Hospital (AH), Changi General Hospital (CGH), KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH), Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH), Ng Teng Fong General Hospital (NTFGH), National University Hospital (NUH), Singapore General Hospital (SGH), Sengkang General Hospital (SKH), and Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH). From 2024 onwards, Woodlands Health (WH) started to submit trauma data to NTR.

National Trauma Unit: Data Management, Analytics and Reporting
The National Trauma Unit (NTU) was set up by the Ministry of Health (MOH) as the data intermediary of NTR in 2017. The unit comprise data management specialists and statisticians, who manages the national trauma registry, and does analysis and reporting of trauma data.
Besides ensuring the NTR adheres to national requirements and guidelines on data and IT security, NTU conducts annual data audits, and regular data validations to ensure data completeness and accuracy. NTU also explores and implements improvements to data reporting, such as creation of data processing tools to automate tasks and dashboards to monitor clinical outcome and injury surveillance.
