National Population Health Survey (NPHS) 2021 Report
20 December 2022
The National Population Health Survey (NPHS), conducted annually by the Ministry of Health and Health Promotion Board, tracks Singapore residents' health, risk factors, and lifestyle practices.
NPHS 2021
This survey has tracked the health and risk factors, as well as lifestyle practices of Singapore residents for the period of 17 July 2020 to 30 June 2021, has found that fewer Singapore residents had participated in chronic disease and cancers screening and met the recommended level of physical activity in 2021 compared with 2019, before the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the prevalence of smoking and binge drinking remained similar compared to 2019. The results of the NPHS are a reminder for Singaporeans to continue engaging in healthy lifestyle habits amidst and beyond the COVID-19 pandemic. MOH and HPB will continue its preventive efforts on various fronts to strive towards a healthier Singapore.
