Situation Update
Today, 2 additional SARS patients have been discharged, bringing the total number of patients who have recovered from SARS to 128. 49 SARS patients remain hospitalised, of whom 17 are in intensive care.
SARS Cases
There are 3 additional SARS cases reported today. They are:
(a) a 41-year-old man who is the son of the 60-year-old woman announced as a probable case on 23 Apr. He had been admitted to TTSH as a suspect case on 23 April 2003.
(b) a 41-year-old woman who is the daughter-in-law of the same 60-year-old woman. She had been admitted to TTSH as a suspect case on 22 April 2003.
(c) a 33-year-old man who is the husband of the 28-year-old woman announced as a probable SARS case on 20 April. He had been admitted to TTSH as a suspect case on 23 April 2003.
Deaths
Two deaths are reported today. They are:
(a) a 63 year old man who was an inpatient of SGH in ward 57; he was transferred to TTSH on 15 April 2003 and passed away in the evening of 25 April 2003;
(b) a 54 year old woman who was a health attendant at SGH Urology Centre. She had been admitted to TTSH since 9 April 2003.
Pasir Panjang Wholesale Market (PPWM): Suspected Cases
Today, 3 more suspect cases (all visitors to the market) related to the PPWM have been discharged.
There are currently 11 suspect cases admitted in relation to PPM. They consist of:
(a) 1 worker
(b) 8 visitors to the market
(c) 1 family contact of a visitor
(d) 1 friend contact of a visitor

Deaths: 19 + 2 (pending post mortem results)
Probable cases: 198
Suspect cases: 102 (including 11 children under the age of 18)
Under home quarantine: 2,878 (1,886 related to PPWM)
Travel Advisory
MOH urges the public to heed World Health Organisation (WHO)'s advice to postpone travel to Hong Kong and Guangdong until another time. We also advise the public to avoid travel to other SARS affected areas - Beijing, Shanxi, Hanoi and Toronto, unless absolutely necessary.
