There’s been a drop in the number of people turning up at hospital emergency departments (ED) and polyclinics for all conditions, despite an increase in cases with respiratory or eye conditions due to the haze.
This was revealed in MOH’s latest weekly numbers on ED and polyclinics attendance.
Last week, ED attendances across the island fell 3.1%, while polyclinic attendances dropped 1.9% compared to the previous week.
This was despite an increase of 546 cases with respiratory or eye conditions due to the haze from the previous week’s tally of 3,307.
Overall, MOH expects to see a clearer trend in the days ahead.
