To ask the Minister for Health (a) whether there has been an increase in cases of e-vaporisers being smuggled into Singapore over the past three years; and (b) how are the relevant agencies strengthening cooperation with overseas counterparts to disrupt the supply chains of e-vaporiser devices.

Written Answer

The number of smuggling cases involving e-vaporisers has dropped from 152 cases in 2022 to 67 in 2024.

E-vaporisers are legal in our neighboring countries, hence the scope for cross-border collaboration on enforcement is more limited. The Health Sciences Authority (HSA) will continue to work closely with the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) to step up our enforcement checks to detect and deter the smuggling of e-vaporisers into Singapore at the checkpoints to disrupt the supply chain.
