Senior Minister of State for Health to Attend International Meeting on Health Ministers on Global Pandemic Influenza Preparedness

Dr Balaji Sadasivan, Senior Minister of State for Information, Communications and the Arts, and Health will be attending the International Meeting of Health Ministers on Global Pandemic Influenza Preparedness at Ottawa, Canada, from 24 to 25 October 2005.

At the Meeting, Dr Balaji will be participating in the Ministerial Dialogue on international collaboration towards fighting the avian flu; improved surveillance and capacity building; vaccine and antiviral development and access; and risk communication and assessment.

Dr Balaji will be accompanied by senior officials from the Ministry of Health and the Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority of Singapore.
