SENIOR MINISTER OF STATE DR LAM PIN MIN TO ATTEND THE 69TH WHO WESTERN PACIFIC REGIONAL COMMITTEE MEETING IN MANILA, PHILIPPINES

Dr Lam Pin Min, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Transport and Ministry of Health, will attend the 69th World Health Organization (WHO) Western Pacific Regional Committee Meeting (RCM) in Manila, Philippines, from 8 to 10 October 2018.
2 The Western Pacific RCM is an annual meeting of 37 Member States and Associate Members. It is attended by the WHO Western Pacific Regional Director, Health Ministers from the region, and senior officials from the WHO.
3 The 69th RCM will discuss regional health issues, including strengthening legal frameworks for health in the Sustainable Development Goals, harnessing e-health for improved service delivery, improving hospital planning and management, neglected tropical diseases, and rehabilitation. The Meeting will also nominate the next WHO Western Pacific Regional Director.
4 Dr Lam will meet with his regional counterparts at the Meeting. He will be accompanied by senior officials from the Ministry of Health.
