RESPONSE TO DISMISSAL OF TTSH STAFF

1. The Ministry of Health (MOH) has been informed by Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) that it has dismissed Mr Ello Ed Mundsel Bello with immediate effect, based on his offensive online postings made in 2014 while employed by TTSH. TTSH has also released a statement detailing the reasons for dismissal.

2. The Ministry expects all healthcare professionals, whether local or foreign, in our public institutions to uphold the values of respect for those they serve, professionalism, integrity and social responsibility.

3. Mr Bello’s online comments are incompatible with the standards of behaviour expected of hospital employees and are not representative of the values and behaviour exhibited by the rest of the public healthcare community.
