Public advised to discard all food items from Prima Deli

As of 04 Dec 07, the Ministry of Health has been notified of a total of nine food poisoning incidents involving 109 cases associated with the consumption of Prima Deli chocolate cakes. Eight cases were hospitalised, all of whom have been discharged. Two food handlers at Prima Food Pte Ltd have also tested positive for Salmonella Enteritidis.AVA has required Prima Food Pte Ltd to stop all production as a precautionary measure as investigations are still on-going to establish the source of contamination. The factory has to ensure that the required hygienic conditions are achieved before they can be allowed to restart the manufacturing process.
AVA has also instructed Prima Food Ptd Ltd to recall all food products manufactured at their factory from all Prima Deli retail outlets.
As the extent of the outbreak is unclear, the public is advised to discard all food items purchased from Prima Deli. Anyone with symptoms of Salmonellosis after consuming these food items should seek immediate medical attention.
