Minister for Health Mr Gan Kim Yong was the guest of honour at the Nurses’ Merit Award today to recognize 73 nurses for their outstanding performance and dedication to the profession. Started in 1976, the Nurses’ Merit Award is open to nurses from the public and private sectors.
Coming from all the public sector hospitals, private hospitals and the intermediate and long-term care sector, the Award recipients have demonstrated consistent and outstanding performance for the past 3 years, participated in professional advancement courses for their development and have made contributions to promote a professional image of nursing.
The award winners each received a medal, to be worn as part of the nurses’ uniform, and a monetary gift of $200.
