Minister for Health to attend the 65th session of the World Health Organisation (WHO) Western Pacific Regional Committee Meeting (RCM), 12-14 Oct 2014

Minister for Health Mr Gan Kim Yong will be attending the 65th session of the World Health Organisation (WHO) Western Pacific Regional Committee Meeting (RCM) from 12 to 14 October 2014 in Manila, the Philippines.

2 The 65th RCM will discuss regional health issues, including antimicrobial resistance, dengue, non-communicable diseases and Universal Health Coverage.

3 The Western Pacific RCM is an annual meeting of 37 countries and areas, which is chaired by the Regional Director, Dr Shin Young-soo. It is attended by Health Ministers from the region, as well as senior officials from the WHO.

4 Minister will also meet with his regional counterparts on the sidelines of the RCM to renew ties and explore potential collaborations in healthcare. He will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Health.
