Mr Khaw Boon Wan, Minister for Health, will be attending the 57th Session of the World Health Organisation's Regional Committee Meeting of the Western Pacific Region in Auckland, New Zealand, from 18 to 22 September 2006 as Singapore's representative.
Mr Khaw will deliver a statement about the need for regional cooperation and collaboration in major health research issues and Singapore's intention to strengthen its capabilities in health services research. He will also speak about Singapore's commitment to invest in translational research, to deliver better health outcomes for patients.
Mr Khaw will be accompanied by senior officials from the Ministry of Health.
