1          Minister for Health Mr Gan Kim Yong will attend the 13th ASEAN Health Ministers Meeting (AHMM), 7th ASEAN Plus Three Health Ministers Meeting (APTHMM) and 6th ASEAN – China Health Ministers Meeting (A-CHMM) in Brunei Darussalam from 5 to 7 September 2017.

2          Held biennially to set the future direction for regional health cooperation, the theme for this year’s AHMM and its related meetings is “Together Towards a Healthy ASEAN”. The meetings will discuss pressing health issues such as ageing, non-communicable diseases like diabetes, building sustainable health systems and the future of health innovation. Mr Gan will share on the common health challenges faced by ASEAN Member States and how the region can cooperate to improve the health outcomes of its people. He will also meet with his international counterparts and other leaders during the visit.

3          Mr Gan will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Health.
