Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in Border Health Measures between the People’s Republic of China and Singapore

Singapore and the People’s Republic of China signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to promote closer cooperation in Border Health Measures on 11 July 2007.
The MOU provides a framework for collaboration between both countries to prevent the spread of infectious diseases across borders. It enables both parties to:
a. Improve health quarantine measures in both countries;
b. Share each other’s experience in border control measures;
c. Facilitate communication and exchanges;
The MOU was signed by the Minister for Health, Mr Khaw Boon Wan and Mr Li Changjiang, Minister of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People’s Republic of China.
Mr Li Changjiang is in Singapore with Vice-Premier Wu Yi to attend the 4th annual meeting of the China-Singapore Joint Council for Bilateral Cooperation.
