Health Minister To Attend 60th Session Of The Regional Committee For The Western Pacific Of The World Health Organisation (WHO), Hong Kong SAR, China

Minister for Health, Mr Khaw Boon Wan, will be attending the 60th Session of the Regional Committee for the Western Pacific of the WHO to be held in Hong Kong SAR, China from 21 to 24 September 2009. Mr Khaw will be accompanied by senior officials from the Ministry of Health.

2. The 60th RCM will discuss technical health issues such as health financing, tobacco control and communicable diseases, including pandemic influenza and tuberculosis control. This meeting will also present member states with an opportunity to discuss the impact of the global financial crisis and Influenza A (H1N1-2009) pandemic on healthcare in Asia and the Pacific.
