The contract to implement Phase 1 of Singapore’s National Electronic Health Record has been awarded to an Accenture consortia, with target roll-out of the NEHR in April 2011.
2 For the current phase of implementation, we will be spending $176 million and by the completion of Phase 1, key medical information including patient demographics, allergies, clinical diagnoses, medication history, X-ray reports, laboratory investigations and discharge summaries will be fully exchangeable.
3 The National Electronic Health Record (NEHR) is a key enabler of Singapore’s vision towards an integrated healthcare system where patients are able to move seamlessly within the healthcare system. Our vision is “one Singaporean, one health record”. With the NEHR, patients will benefit from proper, right-sited disease management and cost savings as we eliminate duplicate or unnecessary tests, and reduce medication errors and adverse drug events that could result in unnecessary healthcare expenses.
