The Ministry of Health wishes to inform the public that 2 Chinese Proprietary medicines have been tested and found to be adulterated with Sildenafil. The details of the products are as follows :

Sildenafil is a very potent drug used for the treatment of male impotence. It has been associated with several deaths overseas due to improper and inappropriate use. Therefore, it should be consumed with caution and under close supervision of a medical practitioner.
Sildenafil is a poison controlled under the Poisons Act. It is an offence to import, sell or offer for sale any poison or product containing any poison without a licence issued by the Ministry. Anyone found guilty of an offence under the Poisons Act is liable, on conviction, to a fine not exceeding S$10,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 2 years or to both.
