In preparation for the legislative registration of acupuncturists in year 2000, the Ministry of Health (MOH) has developed an Acupuncture Upgrading Training Course (AUTC) to prepare acupuncturists for the Common Acupuncture Qualifying Examination (CAQE). The AUTC will be implemented when registration starts in year 2000.
The AUTC Course Curriculum was developed by the AUTC Implementation Committee appointed by MOH. Members of the Committee comprised representatives from four member organisations (ie, Singapore Chinese Physicians' Association ?, Association for Promoting Chinese Medicine, Thong Chai Medical Institution and Singapore Acupuncture Association) of the Singapore Traditional Chinese Medicine Organisations Co-ordinating Committee (STCMOCC) and a representative from the TCM Department of MOH. Inputs were also obtained from two TCM Experts, Prof Fu Shiyuan and Prof Zheng Qiwei, from PRC invited by MOH.
