Minister for Health, Mr Ong Ye Kung, will attend the United Nations General Assembly High-Level Week (UNGA HLW) in New York, United States of America, from 20 to 22 September 2023.
2. Mr Ong will deliver Singapore’s national statement at three High Level Meetings on pandemic prevention, preparedness and response (PPPR); universal health coverage; and the fight against tuberculosis.
3. He will also co-chair a multi-stakeholder panel on PPPR on the theme “ensuring equity through capacity building for PPPR and harnessing timely, sustainable and innovative financing and investment”.
4. Mr Ong will meet his counterparts at the UNGA HLW, and visit Duke University in Durham, North Carolina prior to attending the UNGA HLW. He will be accompanied by senior officials from the Ministry of Health.
