Subsidised basic dental services are available at polyclinics and CHAS clinics. For specialised care, patients are referred to National Specialty Dental Centres like NDCS and NUCOHS.

Where to visit for subsidised basic dental services?
Subsidised basic dental services such as scaling, polishing and fillings are available at polyclinics* and private dental clinics which are part of the Community Health Assist Scheme (CHAS).
Dental services at polyclinics are strictly by appointment only and can be made on HealthHub.
Where to visit for subsidised specialist dental services?
Patients requiring more complex or specialised dental care may be referred from the polyclinics and CHAS clinics to receive subsidised treatment at the National Specialty Dental Centres (NSCs) namely, the National Dental Centre Singapore and the National University Centre of Oral Health, Singapore.
National Dental Centre Singapore
The National Dental Centre Singapore (NDCS) is Singapore’s flagship specialty centre that provides multi-disciplinary and integrated oral healthcare for patients and the population across different life stages. Its strategic location within Singapore General Hospital (SGH) campus allows for better care coordination with different medical specialties and enables the delivery of seamless, quality patient care.
It plays a pivotal role in educating generations of oral health professionals and in providing continuing education and training for dentists and dental specialists including special care dentistry for elderly and special needs patients.
NDCS’ research arm, National Dental Research Institute Singapore (NDRIS), translates research discoveries into novel effective therapies for the improvement of oral and general health in Singapore and the world.
NDCS has embarked on a future digital patient journey that includes teledentistry as well as digital dentistry using 3D technology and new imaging tools to improve patient care and experience. It plans to harness and integrate further innovative technology into its care journey as it moves into its new building in 2027.

National University Centre for Oral Health, Singapore
The National University Centre for Oral Health, Singapore (NUCOHS) is a national specialty centre that synergises clinical services, education and research facilities under one roof to deliver quality and accessible public care to patients of all ages, including those with special needs and complex medical conditions, enhance preventive care dentistry and advance specialist oral health care support since 2019.
Housed within the same facility as the National University of Singapore’s (NUS) Faculty of Dentistry, NUCOHS is well-poised to train and nurture the next generation of oral healthcare professionals by combining the innovative use of educational technology with conventional and experiential methods of training and education.
A one-stop centre harnessing research, clinical and educational capabilities, NUCOHS’ strategic positioning allows it to perform impactful collaborative multi-disciplinary research in oral healthcare and population health. These include translational research in regenerative biology and tissue engineering and spearheading clinical trials as well as public health research to meet the future demands of oral health with an ageing population.
