Healthcare Services Planning
Strategic planning and development of Singapore’s healthcare system including healthcare infrastructure, facilities, and services across the different care sectors such as primary, acute, intermediate, and long-term, and ageing, to support our national mission of keeping Singaporeans healthy by providing good healthcare that is accessible to all Singaporeans.
Healthcare Finance
Keep healthcare affordable for all and support the introduction of new clinical initiatives, by ensuring that appropriate payment structures and incentives are in place. Contribute to MOH objectives of value-based care and clinical outcomes improvement through evidence synthesis, cost effectiveness analyses, value-based pricing, implementation science and education.
Healthcare Regulation
Ensure that healthcare services delivered in Singapore meet safety standards and are of reasonable quality. Draft and effect laws, perform enforcement and audits to ensure compliance, influence the ethics and conduct of the different groups of healthcare professionals, and establish a national standard of care provision to maintain consistency of quality in care provided to patients.
Healthcare Manpower Planning
Formulate policies and strategies to ensure adequate supply of qualified manpower for Singapore’s healthcare system across the different settings, including recruitment and retention of both local and foreign healthcare manpower. Promote their training and development to support healthcare workforce transformation and high standards of professionalism, to ensure that healthcare professionals are safe, competent, and aligned to national healthcare strategies.
Crisis Management
Plan and execute responses to emergencies, including pandemic readiness, disease outbreaks, civil emergencies, and national emergencies. Manage pandemic-related operations and provide medical and psychological support during health emergencies.
